Getting started with Phone.inc
Getting set up only takes a few steps: claim your invite, pick a number, invite your colleagues and install the app.
Short on time? Let your AI assistant do it. Connect it to us and just tell it what you want, like "Add my colleagues Anna and Jonas" or "Send calls to voicemail outside our opening hours". See the MCP guide. Prefer to do it yourself? Here's how.
Before you start
It helps to have these ready:
- Your company name and full company address. Our number supplier needs them to register your number.
- Your colleagues' email addresses.
- Your smartphone (iPhone or Android).
Set up your phone system
- Get your invite. You can't sign up on your own yet. Join the waitlist, and when it's your turn, we send you an invite email ourselves. Open it and click Claim your invite. The link works once, and only for you. Then fill in your details and click Create account.
- Get your number. Choose Get a new number, or Port existing number to bring the one you already have with you. See Move your number to us and Countries we offer numbers in.
- Choose your plan. Start on Free, or try Pro free for 14 days. See Free vs Pro.
- Register your company name. Use your real company name and full address, then click Create my account. A new number can't go live without them. You can update them later in Company details.
- Invite your colleagues. Go to Employees and add your colleagues by email. If some of them share calls, group them in Departments.
- Set up your main number. Go to Settings and pick your number under Numbers. Then decide what happens to your calls:
- When you're open: your welcome message, phone menu and who the call goes to during business hours.
- When you're closed: what callers hear outside business hours.
- If no one answers: where the call goes if nobody picks up, like voicemail.
- Install the mobile app. Download the app on your iPhone or Android phone and log in with the same account. Calls to your business number now ring in the app.
Good to know
- The Free plan includes 1 employee and 1 number. Want more colleagues, more numbers or outgoing calls? Upgrade to Pro in Billing. See Free vs Pro.
- Until our supplier approves your registration, a new number can play "not in use". That usually takes up to 48 hours.
- Moving an existing number takes a bit longer. Keep your current provider until we give you a moving date.
